Drop Shadow Transparent

The Political Science program aims to deliver adequate and quality training in regards to theories and practices on topics of politics and government at local, state, national, and international levels. It allows its undergraduates to have a profound understanding of different institutions and relations that concern the citizenship and the public. Covering a systematic approach in the study of governance, the program enables a comprehensive human understanding in the nature of political phenomena.

The program curriculum concentrates on five (5) primary fields: 1) Philippine government and politics; 2) Comparative politics; 3) International relations; 4) Political theory; and 5) Public administration.

Although the Political Science program is typically viewed as a prerequisite in pursuing law, it is important to understand that Political Science can be a stand-alone discipline and should not be treated as a pre-law course as the discipline offers a variety of political understanding in human nature and theories rather than the legal aspect of the government.

Graduates from this program have built successful careers in the following fields of law, civil service, public service, diplomacy, teaching, research, public relations, campaign strategies and analysis, business, advocacy, and development work.

THE ASSEMBLEA

Drop Shadow Transparent

The Assemblea was once a scholarly journal of The Political Science Forum but has now been elevated to an online journal managed by department members of the University of Santo Tomas - Political Science. This online journal aims to reach an extensive body of scholars with the purpose of understanding different dynamics in the political arena through an open publishing platform for the original publication of research output where peer-reviewed articles are openly available for all.

This journal serves as a multi-purpose platform that enables opportunities, knowledge sharing, critical discourse, and academic publication for scholars well-versed and interested in the political scene.

The forerunner of 'The Assemblea', The Political Science Journal was published by TPSF in 1993.
